About Me
Hi my name is Olivia Brenay. I was born and raised in South Lyon, Michigan. I later moved to New Hudson with my mom my sophomore year of high school. I live with my mom and grandma, while my older sister lives with my dad. I am currently a Senior at South Lyon High School, and will be attending Michigan State University in the fall of 2019. I will be studying to get a two-year Horse Management Certification. I have also attended the Agriscience and Environmental Technologies Program at Oakland Schools Technical Southwest since 2017. I grew up surrounded by animals and I currently have a dog and three cats. I enjoy photography, reading, and riding horses. I have been riding for eleven years and I participated in both my middle school and high school equestrian teams.
Education
In this paper I analyzed the dog meat industry in South Korea. I researched the animals health within the industry, the consumers health and how it overall affects food security. This showcases my ability to analyze a problem; as well as, create solutions to problems on a worldwide scale.
My partner and I examined the stereotype on Pit Bulls. We looked at the history of the stereotype, the stereotype today, predictions for the future, and how the stereotype is portrayed in the media. This showcases my ability to effectively collaborate with other individuals.
In this essay I analyzed the color symbolism throughout The Great Gatsby. I had to choose specific parts of the book that used color symbolism and state what the color symbolizes. This shows my ability to think beyond the obvious and to ponder different possibilities.
This experiment was used to test how UV rays affect people or UV beads in different environments. The first set was tested on a dry surface while the second was tested in water. This showcases my knowledge on experiments, data collection, and analysis or understanding of the data collected
In this essay I used multiple sources to support the idea that communication transcends across borderlines in respect to nonverbal communication. This showcases my ability to read different studies done, incorporate and connect them with my own ideas; as well as, how they apply to the whole population.
