Varsity Equestrian Team
I have been a member of the South Lyon Varsity Equestrian Team since 2015. I specialize in Western, so I competed in mainly Western Equitation, Trail, Reining, Western Riding and both Western and Hunt Seat Showmanships. In 2018 I had the position of Captain along with two other teammates.
The National FFA Organization
I became a member of The National FFA Organization in 2017. I competed in their career development events along with many others. I specifically participated in the Vet Science Ag Skills contest. Being a member of this organization gives me not only the knowledge for future careers in the Ag industry but also a leg up on other people looking to go into the same field of work as me.
World Food Prize - Borlaug Scholar
While being in my Agriscience class, I have been able to participate in the World Food Prize. This organization was first created by Norman Borlaug who started the green revolution. He created this to inspire the younger generation to follow in his steps and continue his work. I wrote a very lengthy essay describing a problem within a certain country that has to do with food security. I was able then to go to MSU and share my research with other students and experts.
